Composite Decking

  • Where can composite decking be used?
Composite decking is perfect for any outdoor space. It can be used in many different areas including private gardens, yards, leisure areas, outdoor dining areas and caravan decks to name a few. It is a great way to revitalise any garden, whether you want an area for entertaining or somewhere quiet to relax.
  • Is composite decking difficult to install?
It is not hard to install. It is much the same as installing traditional wooden decking, and if you have planned your layout accurately with a solid frame. Check out our composite decking fitting instructions for more information.
  • Is it slippery when wet?
Unlike traditional decking, this type of decking has minimal water absorption which means it is much more slip-resistant and also reduces the risk of growth of fungi and mould that can contribute to a slippery surface.
  • Do the boards fade?
No material is fade-proof when exposed to the elements and UV light, a degree of fading is normal, especially after the initial installation and must be expected.
  • Does composite decking age well over time?
The main advantage of composite decking is its longevity. Composite decking is designed to wear better than traditional materials, without the annual maintenance. It also eliminates the problems of warping, rotting, splitting and woodworm, giving you a high-quality decking that really lasts. The expected lifespan of composite decking is generally 20 years and our 10 year warranty will give you extra peace of mind.
  • How much is our composite decking per m2?
Our composite decking at the Floor Store is £55.35 per m2 including VAT. Our decking is usually sold in 3.6m lengths.
